I captured these images today on my Canon 5D mark II with a cheap ProOptic 14mm lens at f/8 or f/11 doing 20-30 second exposures. The pyrotechnics are from steel wool on fire. The location is a sketchy secret underground tunnel near Temescal Canyon.
I just got back from another week in New York City where I shot a commercial for one day with Carmelo Anthony and the Malloys for Degree deodorant but that isn’t online just yet. I hung around for a few days after we wrapped to shoot photos and visit friends. I had never been to the top of the Empire State building before and that seemed like a good place to take my 14mm f/2.8 lens.
